Taking the Stage for Teachers!

What are you willing to do for education? Every day, teachers spend money out-of-pocket to strengthen our children's minds. Did you know they spend an average of $1200 of their own money on classroom supplies each year? Together, thatʼs $4 billion annually! I know—$4 billion!!! For most, theyʼre just trying to help kids get the basics!

Thatʼs why OfficeMax teamed

up with Adopt-A-Classroom to create “A Day Made Better“—a national cause event founded to erase teacher-funded classrooms. And now, Chicago is joining in and "Taking the Stage for Teachers!"

Join us on Wednesday, September 30 from 6-9pm at Sopranoʼs, 2901 N. Sheffield, for a night of food, fun, and most importantly teacher appreciation. Oh, and did I mention the Karaoke? Yes, itʼs time for you put yourself out there just like teachers do everyday for your kids. As a special treat, recording artist and kids TV host, Miss Lori, will get the party started with her award winning music. Then, we’ll invite you to take the stage for education and maybe even sing!

Our goal is to gather donated school supplies to award to a needy teacher in the Chicago area. To attend, please bring school supplies or $10 to donate to Chicago Public Schools.

During the event, you’ll get to earn raffle tickets throughout the night for the chance to win a phenomenal gift basket for your favorite teacher. You can up your odds and earn raffle tickets when you:

  • Bring school supplies to donate to the cause.
  • Bring along a teacher to join in the event.
  • Answer trivia questions about music and education.
  • Video tape a teacher testimonial.
  • Perform a karaoke song.
  • Perform in costume or add choreography.
  • PSVP! We are limited to space.

At 8:30 p.m., we will draw numbers and announce the winners of the teacher gift baskets. Plus, a special prize will go to the person who earns the most tickets!

So, dry off your shower tune, polish up your high notes because it’s time to “Take the Stage for Teachers” in Chicago.

Can't Come, But Want to Donate?

Not a problem! You can drop off your donation of school supplies at Soprano's Monday September 28 or Tuesday, September 29 from 12-8 p.m.
